Restrooms, water fountains, and vehicle gates at some City of Kalamazoo parks have closed for the fall and winter months and will reopen May 1 of next year. Parks will continue to be open year-round, daily from 8 a.m. to sunset.

Halloween Forest will return to Milham Park on Saturday, October 26 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Halloween Forest is a completely free and family-friendly alternative to trick-or-treating for Kalamazoo families. This year’s event is sponsored by Lake Michigan Credit Union and Kalamazoo Friends of Recreation.

Kzoo Parks and the Kalamazoo Youth Action Council (KYAC) will host a Youth & Teen Entrepreneur Fair this Saturday, September 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Community Room at Mayors’ Riverfront Park (251 Mills St).

Volunteers will distribute free food boxes in the parking lot at Mayors’ Riverfront Park. Any community member in need of food can drive or walk-up and receive a box.

The City of Kalamazoo will host its Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, November 29 in Bronson Park! Everyone in the community is invited to celebrate the holiday season and the diverse traditions that make it so special.
