Winter Family Scavenger Hunt

Kzoo Parks will host a week-long Winter Scavenger Hunt from Wednesday, February 11 through Wednesday, February 18, inviting community members of all ages to explore Kalamazoo’s city parks while searching for hidden items.

The Scavenger Hunt Guide and Submission Form will be available beginning at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, at www.kzooparks.org/scavengerhunt. The guide will include the list of participating parks, maps, and clues.

Using the guide, participants can visit any of the participating parks, locate the hidden item, and take a photo with it. To enter the prize drawing, participants will complete a submission form for each park they explore and upload their photo. Participants will be able to access the online submission form on the Scavenger Hunt Page or by scanning the QR code on the sign in each participating park. Each submission counts as one entry into the prize drawing, allowing participants to increase their chances of winning by visiting multiple parks.

Each of the 15 participating parks will contain one hidden item. Parks have been grouped into varying difficulty levels, allowing participants to choose their preferred level of challenge. All submissions must be made by the end of the day on Wednesday, February 18.

Five winners will be randomly selected to win a Family Season Pass at Kik Pool, a $125 - $170 value. The first 50 participants will also receive a free Kzoo Parks t-shirt for each participating family member. Winners will be notified by email and announced on Kzoo Parks social media channels on Friday, February 20 at 12 p.m.

Hidden items will be placed in locations that are within reach, and will not be placed in restricted areas, under any park equipment, or above seven feet off the ground. Participants will not need to look through flower beds or dig anywhere to find hidden items. Participants only need to take a photo with the items and are asked to leave items where they found them so that others can participate.

Participants are encouraged to dress warmly for winter weather, monitor conditions, and plan ahead to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
