Bike Rodeo

Originally planned to be held at the new bike playground at Rockwell Park, the event has been relocated to the Kalamazoo Farmers Market due to infrastructure improvements taking place near Rockwell Park.

Get ready to ride safely and have fun at the Bike Rodeo! This FREE event is designed to teach kids essential biking skills while ensuring their bikes and gear are properly fitted for safety.

Bring your bikes and helmets to the event for assistance from public safety officers, who will help ensure your bike and helmet are fitted correctly. Kids will also have the opportunity to participate in the Bike Safety Course, where they’ll practice various skills at fun, interactive stations—learning everything from balancing to hand signals!

Looking to get your bike in tip top shape? Open Roads will provide a bike fixing station for minor repairs and tune-ups. There will also be bike-themed giveaways available while supplies last, and Safe Kids Kalamazoo County (led by Bronson Children’s Hospital) will provide free helmets to kids who need one (while supplies last).

We're excited to host this event at a new location for 2026! This year the event will be held at the Kalamazoo Farmers Market. Bring your family and friends, and come celebrate biking, safety, and fun! See you there!
