Kzoo Parks is inviting the entire Kalamazoo community to Mayors’ Riverfront Park on Thursday, February 13 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for a “Flurry of Fun,” a free winter event for the Kalamazoo community to embrace the fun side of winter.
The event will offer winter activities for all ages including a Winter Obstacle Course with five snow-based challenges, Winter Golf which is like mini golf but in the snow, and a snow toss game. Colorful LED features and light towers will be set up to illuminate the event.
There will be free s’mores and hot chocolate stations and a Story Tent where guests can warm up. Kalamazoo Public Library's (KPL) Mobile Library will also have free books, books to check out, and library card sign ups.
After canceling the event the past two years due to lack of snow, activities have been adjusted this year to make the event less snow and weather dependent.
“We hope this event will encourage residents of all ages to get outside and have fun this winter,” said Kya Mitchell, Special Events Coordinator for Kzoo Parks. “For the last few years, the weather has been unpredictable, so this year we're planning for a fun event even if the weather won't cooperate. Bundle up and come have winter fun with us on February 13!”
Community members can pre-register for the event to be entered into a prize drawing for a chance to win a $100 gift card for a shopping spree at Dick’s Sporting Goods. Online registration is available at www.kzooparks.org/Flurry. This event is free, and all community members are welcome.
