Lunchtime Live! presented by Lake Michigan Credit Union offers live music, games, food, and fun every Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Bronson Park.

This summer event series will kick off for the 2025 season on Friday, June 13 and continue through Friday, August 29.

Food and retail will be available for purchase. Food trucks will be lined up along Bronson Park on South Street and other vendors will be set up throughout the park. Each week will feature a different local musical artist.

This is a free event, and all community members are welcome.

June 13 - Pinter Whitnick

Pinter Whitnick

Forming in a small studio apartment in Detroit, Pinter Whitnick spent 2020 distilling their favorite songs down into duo-sized versions. While Kayleigh played bass, sang, and controlled a live light show, Alex added guitar, keys, vocals, and foot percussion. The result was an 80s/90s duo with a full-band sound. Since then, Pinter Whitnick has taken their unique style to venues across the Mitten, turning back the clock and taking listeners on a sonic journey.

June 20 - The Kennedy Affair

The Kennedy Affair

The Kennedy Affair blues band has a Texas blues feel with a taste of Southern Rock and Soul classic crowd favorites and tasteful original music. This memorable band is fronted by powerhouse, blue eyed soul singer Robbie Ryall and blues guitarist Matt Kennedy; a blues veteran, whose musical vibe is described as raw and hardcore. He aims to make you really listen to and feel his music!

June 27 - Carrie McFerrin

Carrie McFerrin

“Michigan’s Sweetheart” Carrie McFerrin has been a staple in the Michigan music scene for over a decade. She brings a fierce country twang with an indie twist that is sure to give you the warm fuzzies and kick you in the teeth at the same time. She captivates a room within her first few notes, showcasing her swanky-twang, old country style. Her stage presence is a force full of wit and hilarity as she shares stories about her life and inspired songwriting.

Thrice-nominated for the WYCE Jammies, Carrie recently released her highly anticipated new album “Postpartum” to much acclaim. McFerrin is now performing both solo and with a stellar cast of Michigan music veterans. Be sure to catch a show…and watch your teeth.

July 11 - The Dirty Rain Revelers

The Dirty Rain Revelers

The Dirty Rain Revelers consist of husband/wife duo, Matthew and Melissa DeOrazio, both on guitars and vocals.  The music they make has a kinetic energy that connects to roots and blues, and weaves in the human experience through the songs they share.   Both lifelong musicians, they’ve been playing together for 18 years under various guises and lineups.

To date, they’ve recorded five albums, toured nationally, performed at various festivals, built a home recording studio, and established their own music publishing company. They have appeared three times on the television series NCIS: New Orleans, together with working on soundtracks and background music for several other productions. Their latest album (Live from the Porch) was born out of pandemic life and the live-streams they shared from their New Orleans porch.  

July 18 - Kanola Band

Kanola Band 

Kanola Band brings together some of the most experienced and diverse musicians in the midwest US jazz scene to pay tribute to the great music and heritage of New Orleans. Dipping into the city's diverse musical history and culture including traditional Dixieland, groovin' zydeco, soulful funk to blasting brass band second lines, audiences of all ages will leave feeling just a bit happier than when they came. Bring your dancing shoes, leave your worries behind and be ready for some fun, because Kanola Band is always a good time!

Playing at a range of venues, Kanola adapts amazingly to their surroundings and audiences. They have played in clubs to dancing audiences, opened for national touring acts in theatres, presented educational clinic performances at middle & high schools, in addition to major universities, and have performed at outdoor festivals. Wherever Kanola brings their infectiously fun music, the consensus is the same - the audience is “with them”! In other words, engaged, entertained, and excited.

July 25 - Dylan Tolbert

Dylan Tolbert 

Originally from Three Rivers, MI, Dylan Tolbert has lived in the Kalamazoo area since 2018. Since then he has played at various venues in Michigan and Northern Indiana. Vocalist, drummer, pianist, and guitarist are just a few words to explain the talented multi-instrumentalist. March 29th,2021 marked the date of Tolbert’s first album, “Tolbert Drive”, which is streaming on all music streaming platforms. Cover music from artists such as Stevie Wonder, Prince, Marvin Gaye, U2, Elvis, and Chris Stapleton are also in Tolbert’s repertoire. One of west Michigan’s entertainment guides, “REVUE” magazine, name Tolbert as a top 10 musician to see in 2023. Tolbert also appeared in an addition of “Shoutout Michigan.” “Live at Luna” is Dylan’s latest music release which can be found on all music streaming platforms. 

August 1 - Y-Not

Y-Not

Y-Not Acoustic Sessions is the acoustic branch of the 6 piece, empowerment focused jam band, Y-Not. The music interweaves elements of Funk, Folk, and Ambient Soul with lyrics promoting interpersonal truth and change. As a smaller ensemble, this grouping of Y-Not’s members represent a side of the band that returns to its singer-songwriter roots as its own unique form of Americana.

August 8 - K-Nein

K-Nein

K-Nein (K-9) is an Americana Rock Band playing in the tradition of The Grateful Dead, The Band, and Paul Simon with tight vocal harmonies and deep roots in improvisational music as well as composition. The band’s third studio album Magic, Myth, and Rhyme is available on all streaming platforms. K-nein is fronted by the husband and wife duo of Mike Krieglstein and Katelynn Krieglstein who live in rural Michigan on a 120 year old farm where they run a lesson and recording studio. K-Nein performs all around the midwest in many different music “outfits” including our upcoming show at Epiphany Center for the Arts paying tribute to Ms. Joni Mitchell. August 15 - Youth & Teen Talent Show

We will be offering a special youth focused Lunchtime Live event on Friday, August 15 with a talent show and youth vendor spaces.

Kzoo Parks and the Kalamazoo Civic are excited to host a Youth & Teen Talent Show at the August 15 Lunchtime Live event. Youth and teens can participate in the talent show with music, dance, comedy performances, and more! The show will be hosted by Von Washington Jr. the Executive Director of Community Relations for the Kalamazoo Promise. 

The event will also offer an opportunity for youth entrepreneurs to sign up as vendors and showcase their businesses to the community, network with other young entrepreneurs, and sell their products. Presented by the Kalamazoo Youth Action CouncilYouth can sign up for free vendor spots at the August 15 event starting on Monday, April 7. 

August 22 - Shelagh Brown Band

Shelagh Brown Band

With her parent's recording studio in her home, Shelagh has grown up with music her entire life. Shelagh's music has something for everyone with eclectic tunes from her roots in country to pop and everything in between. 

August 29 - Jacob McLeod

Jacob McLeod

 Based in Big Rapids, Michigan, Jacob McLeod became obsessed with all things music during the lockdown of 2020. With time on his hands, he learned guitar, piano, and began to write his own songs as well. Since then, he has released numerous singles, a full length album, performed all across the state of Michigan, and just recently released his debut EP “Mozart,” all while attending Central Michigan University.
