Kzoo Parks and the Kalamazoo Civic will host a Youth & Teen Talent Show on Friday, August 18 during Kzoo Parks’ Lunchtime Live! event from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Bronson Park (200 S Rose St).

The show will feature 14 acts with performances in singing, dancing, poetry, and beatboxing, including performances with a keyboard, violin, and guitar. The talent show will be hosted by Von Washington Jr., the Executive Director of Community Relations for the Kalamazoo Promise.

“Last year’s acts brought lots of talent and energy to the Rotary Stage, and we’re looking forward to another great show this year,” said Kya Mitchell, Special Events Coordinator for Kzoo Parks.  “It’s a special Lunchtime Live! where we get to encourage a new generation of artists and performers and enjoy their many talents.”

Talent show judges will award first, second, and third place with prizes including speakers and gift cards donated by Airway Lanes, Climb Kalamazoo, Airborne Adventure Park, and Erbelli’s. The 1st place winner will be invited to perform at the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, November 24. All talent show participants will also be awarded a gift bag.
