Kalamazoo River Cleanup

Michigan Waterways Stewards is thrilled to be partnering with Rotary Club of Kalamazoo, the City of Kalamazoo, Kzoo Parks, and many other partners to help clean the Kalamazoo River running through the city which is its namesake.

We all have a shared responsibility to protect, care for, and improve our treasured and vulnerable waterways. Thus the reason for this being a community-wide event to clear the Kalamazoo River, it's adjoining river trails and parks, and low lands, of litter, trash, and other evidence of urban living.

We are seeking the support of Kalamazoo area businesses and industry, schools and churches, civic and social clubs, passionate individuals and local government. Join us. It is amazing the ease in which we can accomplish great things when working together.

There are opportunities for those who are skilled and comfortable to support cleanup activities on the river. For those many others, no worries. There is plenty to do to help showcase the best of Kalamazoo. There will be organized volunteer efforts to pick up litter and trash, and improve the conditions of our prized river trails and riverfront parks.Afterward our main event day activities, join us for a little hospitality as we celebrate our wonderful community and work well done.
