Looking for after school care? You are in the right spot! Our After School Program focuses on creating a fun, safe environment for your child to learn and grow in. Each day kids will be given a snack, get help with their homework, a chance to read their favorite book (or a new one!), and of course a lot of fun recreation!

After School Programs are available at three locations: the Youth Development Center (YDC), Station 5 Community Center, and Winchell Elementary.

Don Cooney Cultivation Center

For the 3rd session, the YDC site will be moving to the new space in the Don Cooney Cultivation Center at the Kalamazoo Farmers’ Market!

Transportation

Transportation will be provided from the schools listed below. 

Locations & Schools

Youth Development Center

  • Milwood Middle School
  • Parkwood Upjohn
  • Linden Grove Middle School

Parents/guardians must pickup from YDC, anytime before 6pm.

Station #5 Community Center

  • King Westwood Elementary
  • Hillside Middle School
  • Woodward Elementary (walk over with staff)
  • El Sol Elementary
  • Edison Elementary

Parents/guardians must pickup from Station #5, anytime before 6pm.

Winchell Elementary

  • Winchell Elementary

Kids are to report to the library, after school is dismissed. Parents/guardians must pickup from Winchell, anytime before 6pm.

Ages:

Kindergarten - 8th Grade

 

Winchell is Kindergarten - 5th Grade

 

Cost:

$195 per session, Kalamazoo City Resident

$220, Non-resident

 

Schedule:

2nd Session:

Nov. 17 - Feb. 27

(No program Nov. 26 - 28, Dec. 10, Dec. 22 - Jan. 1)

 

3rd Session:

March 2 - June 5

No program March 19, March 20, March 27, March 30 - April 3 (Spring Break), or May 25 (Memorial Day)

 

 

Monday - Friday

Station #5 & YDC: 2:20 - 6 p.m.

Winchell: 3:45 - 6 p.m.

 

*No programming on non-KPS days, or holidays. There will be programing on KPS half days.
