Kik Pool to open for 2023 Season on June 7

Summer fun at the Kik Pool

Kik Pool (1018 Walter Street) is scheduled to open for the 2023 season from Wednesday, June 7 to Sunday, August 13. The pool will be open for Lap Swim seven days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and Open Swim, Monday through Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Season pool passes are currently available for purchase at the Kzoo Parks office (251 Mills St) and starting on June 7, day and season passes will be available for purchase at the pool. Day passes are $7 for adults ages 18 and above, $4 for youth ages 2 to 17, and kids under 2 years old have free entry.

Season passes are available for individuals, families, and youth. An Individual Season Pass is $80 for Kalamazoo city residents or $125 for non-residents. A Family Season Pass is $105 for Kalamazoo city residents or $145 for non-residents. A Family Season Pass includes up to six family members per address. New this year, a Youth Season Pass is also available for youth and teens ages 12 to 17. A Youth Season Pass is $40 for Kalamazoo city residents or $55 for non-residents. Kalamazoo city residents can apply for financial assistance to use toward the purchase of a resident youth membership through Kalamazoo Friends of Recreation.

Aqua Fitness classes will also be hosted at the pool by Just Move Fitness and More starting on Saturday, June 10 for adults 18 and older and youth accompanied by a participating adult. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.  Aqua fitness classes are included in season passes or participants can purchase a daily pool pass to participate in a class. There is no additional fee to participate in an Aqua Fitness class.

The Kik Pool is also available to be rented for group events or birthday parties. For pool facility rentals, community members can visit the Kzoo Parks office (251 Mills St) or call 311 or 337-8000 to learn more. More information on Kik Pool is available at www.kzooparks.org/kik-pool.

In addition to Kik Pool, the Florence Street Splash Pad (534 Florence St), LaCrone Park Splash Pad (535 W Paterson), and Woods Lake Beach (2900 Oakland Dr) offer opportunities to cool off during the summer. Splash pads will be open from Saturday, June 10 through Monday, September 11 with water features available daily at the Florence Street Splash Pad between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. and the LaCrone Park Splash Pad between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Woods Lake Beach is also available daily in the summer from 8 a.m. to sunset.
