Step 1.Review Considerations for Event Planning

Before getting started, first read the Special Event Guide to learn about the approval process, timelines, fees, serving food & beverages, requirements for tents or structures, and using public spaces.

Step 2.Submit Applications and Pay Application Fee 

Complete the special event application form and any other needed forms at least 60 days before your event. Include as much information about your event as possible. If you are requesting use of streets or sidewalks for a parade, walk, or march, a complete description of the route and a map should be included. 

After you submit your application a member of our team will follow up to arrange payment. Streets or parks will not be reserved until the non-refundable application fee has been paid.

Step 3.Application review

Once forms have been submitted, they will be reviewed by the City. The event organizer will be responsible for additional costs needed to ensure a safe event, such as barricades for streets or additional Public Safety staffing. You may be contacted for further information if there are concerns or questions about your event plan. After the event has been reviewed it will be submitted to the City Manager's Office for final approval. The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board will also review events that will be held in city parks.

Step 4.Approval of Special Event

Once the special event has been reviewed and all requirements have been met, the organizer will be notified of approval.
