Restrooms, water fountains, and vehicle gates at some City of Kalamazoo parks have closed for the fall and winter months and will reopen May 1 of next year. Parks will continue to be open year-round, daily from 8 a.m. to sunset.
Block parties are a great way to bring your neighborhood together! To organize a block party, you will need to let all of your neighbors that will be directly affected know as part of the application process.
The fee to host a block party is $85 for new events or $35 for returning events, plus the cost of renting barricades. The event fee is due with your application and the cost of barricade rental will be invoiced approximately 6 weeks after the event.
A few other things to consider:
Because the application requires you to get signatures from your neighbors, you cannot complete this process fully online. You can download and return the application online though.
Complete the Block Party Application with all of the relevant details for your planned event. The application will ask for the basic details like date, time, location, if there will be music, etc.
The application also includes a petition that you will need to have your neighbors sign.
