Host a Block Party

Block parties are a great way to bring your neighborhood together! To organize a block party, you will need to let all of your neighbors that will be directly affected know as part of the application process.

The fee to host a block party is $85 for new events or $35 for returning events, plus the cost of renting barricades. The event fee is due with your application and the cost of barricade rental will be invoiced approximately 6 weeks after the event.

A few other things to consider:

  • Block parties must take place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., and clean up must be finished by 6 p.m.
  • Block parties cannot be held on holidays or holiday weekends because of staffing constraints to support the event. These include New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
  • Once a block party is approved, we will mail the information to the neighborhood association or contact that we have on file.
  • Please submit your application 45 days in advance. Applications for block parties within 45 days will not be approved.

Online

Because the application requires you to get signatures from your neighbors, you cannot complete this process fully online. You can download and return the application online though.
