Community Invited to 1st Annual “December to Remember” Event in Bronson Park
Free event will offer crafts, cocoa, donuts, letters to Santa, holiday lights, and Holly Jolly Trolley rides
Kzoo Parks is welcoming the entire Kalamazoo community to Bronson Park on Thursday, December 16 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for “December to Remember,” a new holiday event for Kalamazoo families. The event will offer a variety of holiday treats and activities for everyone to enjoy for free.
Guests can enjoy complimentary hot chocolate, coffee, and donuts while supplies last under the holiday lights in Bronson Park. The first 200 guests will receive a holiday craft bag to take home, which will include assorted craft magnet picture frames, a beaded charm bracelet kit, reindeer antlers with stickers, color your own winter puzzles, holiday make-a-character sticker sheets, assorted ornament crafts, holiday chocolate, and candy canes provided by Pop City Popcorn.
Kids can bring letters to Santa or write them at the event to drop off in Santa’s mailbox. Santa will reply to letters that include a return address within seven days. Letter templates are available online here.
The Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership’s Holly Jolly Trolley will run from 5 to 9 p.m., offering free rides around downtown and including a stop at the Radisson Plaza Hotel where Santa will be visiting with children from 4 to 8 p.m.
“December to Remember offers so many fun holiday activities for our community to enjoy while sharing holiday cheer with family, friends, and our community,” explained Shannon Keene, Special Events Coordinator for Kzoo Parks. “We are excited for Kalamazoo to start this new holiday tradition and hope you will join us!”
Attendees should remain cautious and follow CDC and local health official guidelines to protect themselves and the community from COVID-19. This event is free, and although the activities are geared towards families with children, all community members are welcome.
