Free Family Halloween Fun at Halloween Forest on October 30 in Milham Park

Event will include fall themed games, pumpkin racing, a costume contest, magic show, and more

Kzoo Parks will host Halloween Forest on Saturday, October 30 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Milham Park (607 E Kilgore Rd). Halloween Forest is a family friendly event that provides an alternative to trick-or-treating in a safe and fun environment.

Fall themed games and activities like pumpkin bowling, pin the spider, “boo”loon pop, witches brew, and more will be setup in the park. There will also be plenty of photo opportunities along the way including a chance to take a photo with Slappy, Spider Man, Paw Patrol’s Skye or Princess Poppy.

Other entertainment activities will include tarot card readings by Misha Tuesday, pumpkin carving by Lord of the Gourd, Pumpkin Racing from 2-3 p.m., and a magic show by Alan Kazam from 3-4 p.m. Complimentary cider, donuts, and candy will be provided, and pumpkin paint kits will be available to the first 400 people.

Youth ages 3 to 14 can enter the Pumpkin Car Race which will start at 2 p.m. Pumpkin cars can be assembled on-site or before the event (help from a parent or guardian is permitted). Prizes will be awarded to the top three fastest cars as well as the best decorated, most creative, and funniest pumpkin race cars. Pumpkin car racing is free to enter for racers that supply their own hardware (wheels, axles, etc.) or build their cars at home. Racers can also rent the hardware needed for $5 by reserving it ahead of time online or during the event (on a first come, first serve basis). Pumpkin car instructions, racing rules, and rental kit reservations are available at

All attendees can also participate in a costume contest for a chance to win prizes by getting their photo taken at the contest back-drop. Photos will be uploaded to the Kzoo Parks Facebook page in two categories, Family and Individual. The top three photos with the most likes in both categories will win.

“The fall colors at Milham Park provide the perfect back drop for fall and Halloween fun,” said Shannon Keene, Special Events Coordinator for Kzoo Parks. “We will have cider and donuts, plenty of candy, and a lot of fun for the whole family. Throw on your best costumes and we’ll see you there!”

Attendees should remain cautious and follow CDC and local health official guidelines to protect themselves and the community from COVID-19. This event is free, and although the activities are geared towards families with children, all community members are welcome.
