Kzoo Parks to Host a Free Disc Golf Clinic
Learn the basic skills of disc golf with no experience or equipment required
Kzoo Parks will host a free disc golf clinic at Crane Park (2001 S. Westnedge Avenue) on Wednesday, October 13 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Members of the Professional Disc Golf Association will teach participants the basic skills of disc golf like driving, approach throws, and putting. All ages are welcome and no equipment or experience is required. Registration is available online at www.kzooparks.org/discgolf
“Activities like disc golf are a great way to get outside, have fun, and stay active while enjoying time in nature,” explained Shannon Keene, Special Event Coordinator for Kzoo Parks. “If you’re looking for a new outdoor activity or you’ve always wanted to try disc golf but didn’t know where to start, come see us on October 13 and we’ll have some fun learning together.”
Portable baskets and discs will be available at the clinic for everyone to use. In the event of rain, the disc golf clinic will be held indoors at The Point (2595 10th Street North). Due to the possibility of moving the event indoors, registration is required to limit numbers and help keep everyone safe. Attendees should remain cautious and follow CDC and local health official guidelines to protect themselves and the community from COVID-19. This event is free, and all community members are welcome.
Many disc golf courses are available in the Kalamazoo area, including courses located at Knollwood Park, Spring Valley Park, and Red Arrow Golf Course. Disc golf courses in city parks are free to use. Maps of the disc golf courses in Kalamazoo will be available at the event for participants to take home.
