The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will accept public comment at their March 3rd meeting held at Mayors’ Riverfront Park (251 Mills St) from 5:30pm – 6:30pm regarding the application for a Michigan Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund Grant to construct a playground at Milham Park designed for children 2-5 years of age. This part of the project will be considered Phase 1 of the improvements at Milham Park. While both playgrounds are in need of updates, the funding available currently will allow us to only upgrade the 2-5 year old playground. A new playground for 5-12 year old children will be added in 2024 when additional funding is available.
The Parks and Recreation Department will meet with the Milwood Neighborhood Association in March or April to obtain input regarding the playground. The department will also host a public input meeting at Milham Park sometime in May to obtain additional input. The department will seek input regarding the 2-5 year old playground and general park improvements.
